Interview with Brad Bly at Ag-West Bio

Fiyin Obayan recently started working at Ag-West Bio as a communications assistant. An important role of Ag-West Bio is investing in science-based businesses and giving them advice and input to help them grow. The expert in this matter at the company is Brad Bly, Director of Commercialization.

Brad has been in this role for nearly 10 years. His educational background – he earned a B.Sc. in Agricultural Economics and a master’s in economics from the University of Saskatchewan), as well as many years of experience as an economist, gave him a good base for this position.

His advice for aspiring entrepreneurs? Get to know the industry, ask questions, and find a mentor. “You can’t solve a problem or fill a gap until you fully understand what the problem is…once you’ve filled in the gap, don’t be afraid to get that company formalized as fast as possible.”

Brad says Ag-West Bio helps entrepreneurs meet the right people to propel them forward.
