Students have questions about food and agriculture. And we need your help to answer them.

Teachers from schools across Saskatchewan are reaching out to us looking for a way to connect their students with the agriculture industry. They want their students to have hands-on experiences and the opportunity to hear the story about Saskatchewan food and agriculture from people directly involved in growing and producing our food.

We believe it is important for our future generations to understand that our farmers work hard to produce safe and healthy food. We want them to see for themselves that our farmers care about the land and the animals they raise. And we want to help them see that there is so much to learn about agriculture in our community and our world.

We want to show students that a job in agriculture is so much more than ‘just a farmer’. We want them to understand that being a part of the agriculture industry means that you have the important role of producing safe and healthy food for our province and the world. And as the world population grows we must find ways to produce food in a sustainable way.

We need your help to show students the importance of agriculture. We are asking for Farmers and Agri-businesses to sign up to host a tour for students at your operation. What does this mean for you? If a teacher in your area requests a tour, we will connect you and the teacher to coordinate a tour. You have the flexibility to choose a practical time in your schedule to show students around your operation and share about your role in producing food.

We can offer ideas and suggestions to help ensure your tour goes smoothly. We are experienced in providing memorable learning experiences and can help you offer an interactive, educational and fun tour for students.

The agriculture industry is made stronger by the trust, support, and involvement of well-informed consumers. And right now, the future of agriculture is sitting in classrooms across the province, with their hands enthusiastically raised.

You can ensure their questions are answered.
