INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF SECURING INVESTMENT CAPITAL!

The intent of this bootcamp is to assist Saskatchewan’s agri-food sector with being more successful in obtaining investment capital, facilitating overall growth of the sector.
Investment capital is becoming more difficult to obtain – but by being better prepared and educated for the process, a company’s chance of success increases significantly.

BOOTCAMP FORMAT

  • Engaging in-person, hands-on training, including 1 on 1 mentoring, mock negotiations, investment structuring, and personalized pitch practice
  • Pre-bootcamp training materials and videos.
  • Multiple 1 on 1 sessions with Steve Balaban after the bootcamp.

AGENDA

  • Pre-Work
    • 7 hours of pre-work will be required (modules, videos, sample material)
  • Day one
    • Morning: specific challenges being faced by each attending company, customized goal setting exercise and understanding the relationship between goal setting & raising capital
    • Afternoon: detailed negotiation simulation, investment structuring exercise, best practices for a pitch
    • Evening: (optional) space will be available for you to stay and refine your pitch deck.
  • Day two
    • Pitch Day: get detailed pitch feedback and participate in assessing/learning from other pitches.
  • Day three
    • Optional One-on-one sessions with Steve Balaban.  If you cannot attend these sessions, you can book digitally with Steve
  • Post bootcamp Certificate of Completion
  • Follow up 1 on 1 sessions with Steve Balaban after 3 months

ABOUT THE HOST

MinkLearning makes the complex world of private equity and investment attraction simple for entrepreneurs through interactive methods and engaging material.

Steve Balaban, CEO and Founder of Mink Learning, will be teaching the bootcamp. Steve is a trusted educator of entrepreneurs and family businesses around the globe (including Canwest Commercial & Land Corp. of Saskatoon!) and teaches private equity at the University of Waterloo.

COST:

$750 for non-members
$650 for Ag-West Bio members
*fee includes all pre-work with attendees;  lunch/dinner included(optional)
This training qualifies for the Canada Sask Job Grant which covers 2/3 of the cost.
