Erin Armstrong

Erin Armstrong most recently held the position of Executive Director of the Barley Council of Canada (BCC). Prior to her role at BCC, Erin worked for Canterra Seeds for 11 years as Director of Research & Product Development and then as Director of Industry & Regulatory Affairs. She also served for two years as the inaugural CEO of Limagrain Cereals Research Canada.
Erin also spent 14 years in the malting and brewing industry, as President and CEO of the Brewing and Malting Barley Research Institute (BMBRI) and in multiple positions with Canada Malting Co., Ltd. She formerly sat on the boards of the Canada Grains Council and the Canadian Seed Trade Association (CSTA). Erin chaired the Minister’s Advisory Committee to the Commissioner of the Plant Breeders’ Rights Office and has been a member, and frequent chair, of multiple committees & working groups over the course of her career.
Erin holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Manitoba and a Doctor of Philosophy in Biochemistry from the University of Ottawa.
