Director of Ecosystem Development

About the role:
The Director of Ecosystem Development drives growth in Saskatchewan’s food and ingredient processing sector by fostering partnerships, innovation, and collaboration. Representing Ag-West Bio, the role strengthens the Prairie Food Link and elevates the agri-value-added sector to a higher level. This is done by actively pursuing opportunities to create partnerships and collaborations that lead to economic efficiencies, foster local business growth, and recruit innovative businesses to Saskatchewan.

Is this You?
You hold a bachelor’s degree and bring over seven years of experience in stakeholder relations, economic development growth leadership roles, or similar. You will understand the food and ingredient processing sector, including its businesses, stakeholders, and support systems. You enjoy networking, fostering connections, and advancing sector growth through a collaborative leadership style.

Director of Technology Development

About the role:
The Director of Technology Development leads Ag-West Bio’s business development to drive growth and strength in Saskatchewan’s agri-food and biosciences sectors. A key focus is filling the pipeline with innovative entrepreneurs and businesses seeking investment to advance their ideas. By establishing strategic partnerships and expanding Ag-West Bio’s influence locally and globally, this role creates pathways for small and medium-sized enterprises, fostering innovation through investment. This position will support the Global Agri-Food Advancement Partnership (GAAP), which champions Saskatchewan’s leadership in agri-food biosciences. The role involves building partnerships, supporting the commercialization of research, and establishing strong ties with government and private sector leaders.

Is this You?
You have a Bachelor of Commerce degree, or related financial education. You bring over five years of experience in business development and stakeholder relations, particularly with start-ups and entrepreneurs. You have a strong understanding of agri-food bioscience and innovative technologies and you enjoy networking, fostering connections, and developing sales pipelines.

Ag-West Bio is Saskatchewan’s agricultural bioscience industry association. The company works as a catalyst for industry growth in the bioeconomy through direct investments, aiding strategic alliances, hosting educational and networking events, business planning support, and communications.

 

Ag-West Bio is Saskatchewan’s bioscience industry association and catalyst to move research to market and grow biobusiness in the province. We are located in the beautiful, vibrant research park of Innovation Place on the University of Saskatchewan Campus. We work with and assist our members to commercialize in the areas of sustainable crop production, health, environment, bioproducts and value-added food processing. Our commercialization fund assists entrepreneurs, early-stage companies, and helps established companies expand their businesses.
